Most skateboarders leave the midwest, if they choose to stay in the midwest, it's because they have love and want to make it better place. Rockford has a lot of beautiful things happening with its skateboarding, that not only help people circumvent being affacted by its prevailing problem of violence by having something to do, it helps make the city a better place by giving people more examples of how to be productive with their time, and makes others want to be involved. If you want to know about Rockford, you should go on HULU and watch "Minding the Gap" by Rockford resident, skateboarder and filmmaker Bing Liu. Bryan Nambo dedicated himself to the Rockford scene and put out this video "Garbage Day" that brings the entire scene together. It also shows that travel is possible and important. Even going a few hours to the next state can inspire a live changing positive experience. We are always more inspired to skate hard on skate trips, and when we come home we want to skate just as hard. The juice (the experience) from the skate trip makes us appreciate and become more versitile on our home turf and abroad. To leave our comfort zone in order to further understand ourselves is a huge undertaking we all must do it at some point, and is how we can better our own environment. This video is a testimate to how important it is to make edits and full length videos with your friends. You can make your community a better place through skateboarding, don't listen to 'em when they say skateboarding is for kids, they are just trying to figure out why they could not do something as hard as skateboarding on their own.

Filmed in and around the Rockford IL, Madison WI, and Dekalb IL areas in 2017 (plus some Barcelona footage filmed during the "Trabajando 3" mission.) This is an excellent example of skateboarding in Rockford Illinois.
